Short workshop. Lifelong skills.
News Literacy for Arizona teaches news literacy through a one-time workshop that's hosted at schools, libraries and community centers.
The workshop is 50 minutes, free, and nonpartisan. It's designed for attendees age 13 and older. Our five-point training focuses on:
The importance of news literacy
The danger of disinformation
The power of algorithms on the information we consume
The difference between journalism and propaganda
How to build a diverse news diet
These days, it's trickier than ever
to know what's true.
BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION.
Through news literacy, we can be more resilient against disinformation and cleverly disguised propaganda.
